Invasion of the Fosters!

The Foster clan came to visit us this past weekend. How quickly the kids have grown! Tabitha is starting high school and Sarah is almost taller than Sherrie! Well, we didn't experience any of the terrible associated with the twos x 2. A little mischievousness for sure! Jordan has a passion for buttons and light switches and has a bit of OCD tendencies at times. Justin is just so calm and quiet, taking everything in. JT found Justin perched in a small basket in the dining room. I think he just needed some quiet time away from it all! A family of six will certainly make the house feel fuller! We were sort of lonely....for about half a day!

Hope to see the Fosters again soon - perhaps over the holidays.

We are Land Owners!

It's official. We're land owners...and the owners of a new hefty mortgage! We closed on our little slice of future lake paradise on Saturday. Our future vacation home will set on about 1.3 acres fronting Kentucky Lake/TN River. Kentucky Lake is one of the largest man made lakes anywhere. Our new property is located in the charming little community of Big Sandy, TN. It is located between Memphis and Nashville about 35-40 minutes off of I-40. It takes us about 2.5 hours from Memphis to reach our new neighborhood of River Oaks. Life seems to go at a much slower pace in Big Sandy. This past weekend the town was all a buzz with the duck blinds going on....whatever that is.

In about 5-7 years we''ll have everyone up for a visit! Some pictures of the property were taken by the seller earlier in the year, so you can tell a little bit more about the property. Right now, it is quite grown up with small trees and underbrush. Mark your calendars!

We even have a little sandy beach!

The 5 Factor

The 5 factors of what you may ask? The 5 Factor Fitness and Diet. Yes, it's that time of year again. The time where we make our best go at getting in shape (there are actually several times a year where we make our feeble attempts). Well, I guess this one is driven mainly by me. A milestone is approaching. We've done the Atkins Diet, the South Beach Diet, and a couple others that quickly faded into diet days of the past. How could People Magazine and Hollywood's A-Listers be wrong about the 5 Factor? If it works for Halle Berry, it can work for me, right? I was supposed to be in the best shape of my life by age 30. Yeah right...ain't gonna happen. With my 30th birthday party in South Beach nearing in less than two months, there is no time like the present to give it my best effort to get bikini ready. With the 5 Factor I've got 5 weeks to tone and shape my body like Halle Berry. You can stop laughing now.

JT and I actually had our first workout tonight. It was hard! With the 5 Factor, you guessed it...it's all about the 5's! Workout 5 times a week with 5 exercises (cardio, 2 strength exercises, a core exercise and cardio) totaling 25 minutes, and eat 5 meals a day. The 5 meals part is actually going to be one of the toughest things to do (in a healthy way anyway!). Of course the meals are supposed to be healthy with a protein in each meal, plenty of fruits/vegetables and low fat. We bought some turkey hot dogs at Wild Oats that JT cooked up last night. He would advise against these. Apparently, they have a likeness to cardboard, though I've personally never eaten cardboard. So, we'll see how it goes (and how we look) by week 5! The proof is in the pudding...low fat that is!
